OpenIntents

Maybe I'm being an idiot here, but I have an application that downloads a playlist (.m3u) I'd like to just send all files to be played by the media player- I am not interested in writing my own media player, since it'd be wasteful to have another service running on the phone. Does anyone know how I can get this done?
